Intus Windows and the Empowerhouse Project: Intus Passive House Windows has joined the Empowerhouse fellowship which is headed up by Parsons The New School of Design, Stevens Institute of Technology and Milano The New School of management and urban policy. The Empowerment mission is to design and build a cutting edge low income zero-net Habitat for Humanity duplex. This two unit duplex will incorporate, a Passive House. standards which in part calls for extremely energy efficient windows and doors. One of the two units of the duplex will be entered into the 2011 fall Solar Decathlon held on the Nations Mall in Washington DC. Intus windows were chosen by the Empowerhouse team because they met the extreme standards dictated by the Solar Decathlon contest as well as affordability section of the contest.

Wood windows for wide range of climates
Our passive house wood windows perform extremely well in wide range of climate zones. Same as bark protects our trees, wood impregnation and special outside layers protects our wood windows.
Outside coat of our products consist of certain particles and polymer material which is used in the field of space research and aviation industry. Top layer particles penetrate to the smallest cracks of the wood and solidly attaches. Lastly, we use special paint that drasticly reduces bubbles and micro foam formations. We use warm edge spacers in all glass units. Cutting edge technology molecular structure of the spacers reduces heat loss by 7-10% compare to conventional aluminum spacers and reduces condensation on the edge of the glass.
To enhance security features of our windows we took it one step forward - we brought not only tempered but also bullet and blast proof glass to the market.
German hardware: extremely rigid and of superb quality allows smooth operation while opening and tilting the unit.
The newest polymer technology (used in the fields of space research and aviation) and special ecological paint ensure proper protection and durability.
